Broadcast Management Group was contracted to provide creative services to support Epson’s “Swimming in Ink” product launch event in Times Square. To support the live production, Broadcast Management Group was responsible for creating the full graphics package for the live stream, including an animated show open, lower thirds, and bumpers, as well as designing original content for 3 video billboards in Times Square.
In addition to the creative design elements, our creative services team developed the full run-of-show for the 8-hour live web stream. The client developed the concept for the event, but did not have the expertise in filling an 8-hour block of programming with engaging content. For “Swimming in Ink”, our creative services team developed concepts that would not only fill an 8-hour window, but would also promote Epson’s new line of printers and educate consumers.
The biggest challenge for our creative services team leading up to Epson’s “Swimming in Ink” live production was managing the deliverables for the 3 video billboards throughout Times Square. Each billboard was managed by independent companies, meaning each video billboard had different file and size requirements and different delivery methods, which had to be engineered by our live production team. One of the billboards consisted of 11 different screens of various sizes, which meant we had to design 11 assets of various sizes to fill the entire billboard.
